Licenses required by village ordinance
Ordinance 2018-09-24(A) 4-2-11: Standards for Keeping Chickens
As of September 24, 2018, the Village of Shabbona requires all persons keeping chickens register with the Village prior to acquiring chickens. Enclosures are required and a building permit will need to be obtained for all enclosures. Residents already having chickens as of 9/24/2018, have thirty (30) days to bring property into compliance with this ordinance, including registering with the Village.
Residents need to fill out Village Application for Chickens. Applicant will need to go to Village Office during office hours (Wednesday 3pm-7pm, Saturday 9am-Noon) for completion of application and approval by Village. Registration will be kept on record at the Village Office.

Solicitation Ordinance 2-4-1:
A Solicitation License is required for all solicitors in the Village of Shabbona. Solicitors must fill out an application and bring to Village Office during office hours (Wednesday 3pm-7pm, Saturday 9am-Noon) for application approval and license issuance.
RESIDENTS: all solicitors should have a license issued by the Village, you should ask to see license and if one is not available, inform solicitor they need one and notify village of non-licensed solicitor by contacting the Village Office 815-824-3064.
Ordinance 2018-09-24(B) 5-6-1: Golf Carts and Utility Terrain Vehicles
As of September 24, 2018, the Village of Shabbona requires all residents operating a Golf Cart/UTV on the village streets obtain a permit from the Village Clerk. Permits are granted for one (1) year and are to be renewed annually by May 31st. Permit cost is $20 per year. The cost of the permit includes required inspection.
Residents needs to fill out Village application for Golf Cart/UTV permit. Beginning November 1, 2018, Applicant will need to bring the Golf Cart/UTV to the Village Office during office hours (Wednesday 3pm-7pm, Saturday 9am-Noon) for inspection and completion of application process. Resident needs to bring proof of insurance to inspection and the person whose name is on proof of insurance must be present in order for inspection to be done. A permit will be issued upon completion of inspection and approval of application.
